Phyllis Jean Harvey

Service for Phyllis Jean Harvey will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Church of The Nazarene, Claremore, Oklahoma. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 11 from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Phyllis passed away on Sunday, September 8th, 2019. She was 78.

Born August 5, 1941 in Ada, Oklahoma to Floyd Ketchum and Vera (Burch) Wix, Phyllis moved to Claremore as a young girl and attended school here, graduating from Claremore High School. Following her schooling, she married Harry "Buster" Harvey and the couple made Claremore their home.

Phyllis' first priority was her family, she made sure they had everything they needed. She enjoyed having the holidays at her home and cooking for every occasion. Phyllis liked to fish, crochet, and make crafts. Her church was most important to her, and she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and was on the church board.

Family members that preceded her in death were her parents and sister Donna Sue Bennett. She is survived by her husband Buster Harvey; her children Larry Harvey and wife Stacey, and Kelli Harvey, all of Claremore; her grandchildren Kyle Harvey, Blake Harvey and Lyndsey Harvey; her sisters Joyce Been of Heavener, and Kathy Pickup and husband David of Muskogee.
