Plaze passed away July 18, 2015 at the Claremore Veterans Center at the age of 87.
The son of Plaze and Dellah Floyd Crow was born July 5, 1929 in McRae, Arkansas. He lived there until moving to Cotton Plant, Arkansas around the age of seven. Cotton Plant was his home until the age of 17. Then with permission from his father, Plaze enlisted in the United States Navy. During this time he was present at both atomic bomb testing. He served his country from January 17, 1946 until his discharge on November 20, 1947. Upon his discharge, Plaze returned home to Cotton Plant, where he met Patricia VanZandt. They married February 9, 1949. They made their home in Little Rock until moving to Tulsa around 1952. That's when he was first introduced into the prosthetics and brace industry. The next several years found Plaze excelling in the industry. He eventually left Tulsa to run a plant in Hutchinson, Kansas. However, a few years later he returned to Tulsa and purchased the Allied Limb and Brace Company. He owned and operated the company until the early 1980's. After retirement Plaze continued to work in the industry as a consultant until the mid 1990's.
In his spare time Plaze had many hobbies. Playing golf, fishing and traveling were a few of his favorites. He was also a very talented craftsman. It didn't matter if it was made out of wood or metal, Plaze could fix everything. In fact, many family members and friends would bring over things just for him to fix.
He is preceded in death by his parents Plaze and Dellah; brother Aron; and sisters, Dorothy, and Doris.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home; son, Mike Crow and wife Elaine of Bentonville, Arkansas; brother, Don Crow of Searcy, AR; grandchildren, Traci Lunn and husband Craig, and Tricia Torres and husband Omar; great-grandchildren, Michlo and Thalia Torres and Mitchell, Emily, and Carleigh Lunn; along with numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
