Priscilla Ann Hauxwell

Priscilla Ann Hauxwell passed away peacefully in the loving presence of her daughters at Porta Caeli House on July 13, 2017. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Unity Church of Christianity, 3355 S. Jamestown Ave, Tulsa, OK.
Born on Sunday, November 26, 1939 in Warsaw, New York, Priscilla Ann Gates was the youngest child of John Richard Gates and Margaret Christ Gates. She grew up in Silver Springs, NY and graduated from Letchworth Central Schools in 1957. She continued her education at the State University of New York in Alfred, graduating with an Associates degree in Secretarial Science.
Priscilla met and later married Richard Hauxwell in Bliss New York on June 06, 1959. After a few moves between Florida and Georgia they settled on a farm in Claremore, OK in 1973, and eventually moved to Tulsa in 2005.
Priscilla worked in Sales Administration for Albert Equipment until 1982 when she and her husband Richard founded Accufax, an employment background screening service. She retired from Accufax in 2007.
Priscilla was a member of the Unity Church of Christianity in Tulsa; a 41 year member of AlAnon; and a 20 year charter member of the National Association of Screening Agencies. She trusted in Divine Order, believed ‘God Knows & God Shows’, and lived her life One Day at a Time.
Always up for an adventure, Priscilla went parasailing in Mexico (we couldn’t get her down); took a helicopter flight through the Hawaiian Islands; and in her latter years went on a spontaneous trip & cruise in the Mediterranean. She was a practical jokester; the life of the party; and a loving supportive presence for her family and her friends. Her grandson Logan was the light of her life.
Priscilla loved family gatherings; fine food & dining; had a great sense of humor; was always happy and the eternal optimist. She enjoyed traveling, reading, swimming and was an avid animal lover.
Priscilla supported her family and friends in kind compassionate ways that have left indelible marks on our hearts and in our world. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2007; her sister Peg Lakin in 2013; and her parents.
She is survived by daughters Barbara Jean Hauxwell of Tulsa, OK and Elizabeth Anne Wilson and husband Steve of Tulsa, OK; grandson Logan Brown of Oklahoma City, OK; brother Gary Gates and wife Agnes of Warsaw, New York, brother in law Jack Lakin of Escondido, CA; nieces Cathleen Tiner, Laura Gates and Amanda Parker; nephews Michael McDonald, Dan Gates and Dwight Gates; and her cat Mikie.
