Funeral service for Hattie Mabel "Puddie" Burd will be 2 p.m., Mon., Aug. 9, at First United Methodist Church with Revs. Susan Rice and Janelle Brammer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-6 p.m.
Puddie died Thurs., Aug. 5, 2010, at her home at the age of 83.
The daughter of Charles Joseph and Pearl Jane (Henson) Allton was born March 13, 1927, in Claremore. Puddie graduated from Claremore High School in 1945, and continued her education at Draughon's Business College. On Dec. 23, 1945, she married Everett Lee Burd at the First United Methodist Church. Puddie worked as a Southwestern Bell Telephone operator for a short while, but most of her life she was at home taking care of her family. Puddie was a member of First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Puddie is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters: Martha Sue Minnick and husband, Vernon, and Wilma Lee Jones and husband, Edward.
She is survived by her husband, Everett; daughters: Randy Sue Chaney and husband, Cotton, and Renee Louise Attebury and husband, Ricky; brother, Charles Perry Allton; grandchildren: Tammy Rawlings and husband, Brad, Terry Bauser, Tommy Bauser and wife, Keri Jo, Tricia Bauser and husband, Levi, Michael Chaney, Rayna Johnson and husband, Scott, and Erika McKnight; great-grandchildren: Courtni, Matthew, Ryan, Kaila, Daltyn, Zakary, Ashley, Colton, Mandy, Tyler, Kaleb, Brandon, Kaitlin, Aaron, Tara, Kimber, Cody, Mason, Whitney, Emily, Bailey, Brittany, and Dustin; and great-great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Hunter, Jayden, Derek, Kylan, Hunter, Bradyn, Raidyn, and Tristyn.
