Funeral service for Ralph Dean Johns will be 11 a.m., Mon., Dec. 20, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Charles Sandusky officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m.
Ralph died Tues., Dec. 14, 2010, at St. Johns Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 71.
The son of Chester Leroy and Kathryn (Link) Johns was born May 12, 1939, in Dewey. Ralph grew up in Talala, and attended Talala schools. On July 8, 1961, he married Susie Brumback in Chelsea; and they made their home in Tulsa. Ralph served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum where he was a welder. He had the ability to build or weld anything. Ralph enjoyed motorcycles and cars; and spending time with his family.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father; and brother-in-law, Lawrence "Bud" Brumback.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Johns of the home; daughter, Sharrie Holt and husband, Brian of Tahlequah; granddaughters: Amber Holt of Broken Arrow, and Christeney Holt of Tahlequah; mother, Kathryn Johns of Owasso; brothers: Jim Johns and wife, Patsy of Talala, and Tex Johns and wife, Shirley of Oologah; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shirley and Tommy Ricks of Verdigris.
