Graveside service for Ramona Willie Hipp will be 10 a.m., Thurs., July 8, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Danny Cotner officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.
Ramona died Mon., July 5, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 69.
The daughter of Samuel William and Bonnie (England) Barnes was born Dec. 11, 1940, in the Bushyhead area near Chelsea. Ramona played basketball for Foyil High School and graduated in 1959. On Oct. 23, 1961, she married Allen Max Hipp in Miami. They made their home in rural Claremore. Ramona enjoyed bowling and bingo. Ramona was very active with the American Legion Post 141. She was currently serving as President, and was a past District President for the State of Oklahoma.
Ramona is preceded in death by her husband in 2008; her parents; sister, Lenore Wooten; and grandson, R.J. Hipp.
She is survived by her children: Mark Allen Hipp of Chelsea, and Thomasa Mosby of Claremore; siblings: Doris Hulls and husband, Steven of Chelsea, and Tommy Barnes and wife, Leah of Foyil; grandchildren: Kristi Marie Gibson, Emily Nicole Hipp, Joanna Christine Mosby, Deeanna Lynne Mosby, David Allen Mosby; and great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Justin, Hannah, Jacob, and Breanna.
