Funeral service for Reba M. Floyd will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel, burial will be at 3:00p.m., Wednesday afternoon at Restheaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 2 from 2pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Reba passed away at her home on Thursday, July 28, 2022. She was 87.
Born May 28, 1935 in Vian, Oklahoma to Milton Napoleon and Alice Adeline (Bolin) Burditt, Reba attended school in first Vian and later Oklahoma City. She married Franklin Delano Floyd on February 3, 1953 and the couple made their home in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Owasso, and Catoosa before moving to Verdigris in 1978. Reba worked for Hydro-Hoist for over 10 years and later Claremore Nursing Home for 15 years.
Family was most important to Reba and she took great care of them. Her cooking was out of this world and she loved fixing her family their favorites. Granny became the most wonderful name she would ever be called. Those grand and great grandchildren were her most favorite people. Reba was the matriarch of her family and she was loved by all. She was not one to just sit around, Reba enjoyed going places, traveling and her bowling league.
Those family members that survive include her husband, Frank Floyd; her children Larry Joe Floyd, Darla Joan Schweiss and husband Karl, Franklin Delano Floyd, Jr., Elizabeth June Daniels, Charlotte Delene Pinkston and husband Rob, and Marla Dean Heckman and husband John; her sisters Colene Mason and Connie Raymond and many grand and great-grandchildren. Reba was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernest Burditt, Gene Burditt, Ronnie Burditt, and J.D. Burditt, sisters Geri Stevens-Douglas, Louella Wood, and Nadine Lambert, and great granddaughter Parker Renee Martin.
