Rebecca Gale Reed, a beloved homemaker and caregiver, passed away on April 20, 2024, in Claremore, OK, the town where she was born on March 8, 1962. Rebecca's life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family. She found joy and purpose in caring for her children, grandchildren, and parents throughout her lifetime.
Growing up in Claremore, Rebecca attended Claremore and Sequoia Public Schools. She met her husband Ronnie during her high school years at the Sonic Drive-In The two would later marry and had many wonderful years together. They made their home in Claremore later moving to Louisiana for a couple years while Ronnie worked on the Oil rigs and Rebecca took care of their son (Ronnie Reed). They later moved back to Oklahoma and settled down in Talala until they moved to Claremore and had their daughter Amber. It was during this time that she cultivated a deep love for her family and a passion for serving those closest to her heart. Known for her servant's heart, Rebecca's warm and nurturing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.
Apart from her role as a caregiver, Rebecca also found solace and enjoyment in various hobbies. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening, found relaxation in crocheting, delighted in shopping for her grandchildren, and cherished the opportunity to travel. Her most treasured adventure was exploring the sandy beaches of Florida.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Lana Sims, and her sister Vickie Marie Sims.
She is survived by her brother Jackie Simms,ex-husband Ronnie Reed, son Ronnie Melvin Reed, daughter Amber Bruder and son-in-law Harley Bruder, as well as her grandchildren Alexa Patience Reed, Hailey Bruder, Faith Bruder, and Harley Bruder II.
Family was at the center of Rebecca's world; she leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will be remembered fondly by all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace knowing that her kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
