Memorial services for Rex Roush will be 1:00p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at Lifechanger Church, with Dr. Ted Estes and Pastor David Estes officiating. Rex passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the age of 78.
Rex Eugene Roush was born November 22, 1936 in Conesville, Iowa to Charles and Neva (Rutt) Roush. He attended several different schools, graduating from Morning Sun High School in Iowa. Following his graduation, Rex enlisted with the United States Air force and proudly serviced his country. When Rex’s duty with the Air Force was finished, he returned to his community and farmed for a time. Later he moved to California and enrolled in vocational classes that prepared him for his career at American Airlines. Rex married Carol Ann Caparoon on August 23, 1959. With a transfer to Oklahoma, Rex and his family moved to Claremore area and faithfully worked for American Airlines for 35 years. Rex enjoyed the rural life in Claremore and he raised cattle on his farm. His hobbies were restoring old cars and tractors. He had many tractors and a favorite car that he restored over the years. He loved taking them to shows where he spent many hours visiting with other tractor and car enthusiasts.
Those family members that survive include his wife Carol of their home in Claremore; his sons Rodney Roush and wife Cheryl of Inola and Phillip Roush and wife Patricia of Aurora, Colorado; his grandchildren Rusty Roush and wife Brandie, Ryan Roush, Toni Roush, Trent Roush, Charlie Roush and Mandi Jimeson and husband Brad; his great grandchildren Ryder Roush, Jacee and Braxton Jimeson; his brothers Mike Roush, Woody Roush; his sisters Donna Brier, Nelda Yocum and Verna DeVine. Rex was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Layton Roush.
