Funeral service for Richard D. Williams will be 11 a.m., Wed., May 22, at Inola Christian Church with Ministers Steve Cable and Jim Page officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.
Richard passed away Sat., May 18, 2013, at his home at the age of 57.
The son of Robert Gilbert and Betty Ann (Hoit) Williams was born Jan. 9, 1956, in Tulsa. He attended Billy Mitchell Elementary School, until the family moved to a farm in Willow Springs, MO. The family later moved back to Tulsa where Richard graduated from Rogers High School. He played baseball throughout school, and while in junior high played football. During his senior year of high school he also stayed busy working at the local tire shop. In 1981, Richard married Barbara Jean Ricklefs at his parents home at Snug Harbor in Wagoner. From 1984 until 2008 they made their home in Inola where they owned Williams Concrete Pumping Company. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed working with his cattle and his cattle dogs, Rowdy and Skye, his Border Collies; and spending time with his spoiled Alaskan Malamute, Nikki, hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams; and step-son, B.J. Smith.
Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; children: Richard Lee Williams and wife, Erin of Inola, and Kenneth Allen Williams and wife, Kim of Tulsa; mother, Betty Ann Williams of the home; siblings: Robert Williams and wife, Traci of Salina, David Williams and wife, Sandy of Joplin, MO, and Crystal Turnage of Whiteright, TX; and grandchildren: James Lee Smith, Zander Grey Williams, Azalee Monroe Williams, and Wyatt Oliver Williams.
