Rick Minnick

January 23, 1950 — February 14, 2013

Charles Richard “Rick” Minnick was born January 23, 1950 in Claremore, Ok to Vernon and Sue Minnick. He attended high school in Foyil and graduated in 1968 and lived the remainder of his days in Claremore.
Forty years ago he met the love of his life, Connie. They married and made their home filled with joy and love. With his wonderful smile he brought laughter and caring to his family and many friends. Rick and Connie built their home out of a deep seated love that many never experience. Together, they were truly soul mates and that feeling made him proud and also made him realize just how blessed he had been throughout his life. Overcoming life’s obstacles together made their bond indestructible.
For years he worked as an equipment operator and was good at what he did but
he wanted something more. Luckily he found what he wanted. Rick started a
lawn care business and he was never happier. His customers were not just clients
they were his friends. He loved being outdoors, loved flowers and all the beauty
nature had to offer so a lawn business fit him well. As a hobby, Rick loved planting flowers, collecting and making clocks and bringing home all the treasures old and new that he found on his trips to a flea market or garage sale.

Rick’s family meant the world to him and hoped that everyone knew how he felt. His children and grandchildren were the light of his eye and he knew this meant that he would never be alone. His mother-in-law, Virginia was a special part of his life and he cherished their time together. All of his brother and sisters-in-law and their extended families made his family complete.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. His is survived by his wife Connie of the home. His children, Jon Reed of Branson, Cari Manton-Peek and husband Danny of Atlanta, Mike Reed and wife Anita of Inola and Michelle Payne of Claremore, Tony Minnick of Tulsa. His grandchildren: Amanda and husband Darrell of Chouteau, Ryan of San Diego (US Navy), Robert of Atlanta, Kaila of Claremore, Erin of Atlanta, and Chase of Inola. His mother-in-law Virginia Mcknight, brother-in-law Guy Mcknight and wife Sally, sister-in-law Cindy Mcknight, brother-in-law Kevin Mcknight and wife Lisa and Mern Nickles, all of Claremore . Sister Jane and husband Pat of Claremore. Many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
