Rickey Bitting

Services for Rickey D. Bitting will be 1:00p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Jeremy Moore officiating. Rickey passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Saint Francis Hospital at the age of 69.
Rickey D. Bitting was born April 14, 1945 in Welling, Oklahoma to Owen Swepston and Faye Katherine Bitting. Following his education he worked for Groendyke Transport and Ellsworth as long haul driver. Then Rickey began working for Anheuser-Busch and drove for them locally, retiring there in 2010 because of health issues. On March 7, 1975 he married Cathy Hamilton and the couple was blessed with 3 children. In 1989 the family moved to Bushyhead and this has been home since. Rickey enjoyed gardening and each year he planted a large and bountiful one. He loved smoking meats and having his family over to share in his wonderful feasts. The holidays were among his favorite times, or anytime that family was involved. Rickey loved his family without limits and he lived to see them happy. He extended his kindness and caring nature to all who knew him, always willing to help anyone who needed help.
A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, Rickey is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cathy; his sons Charlie Bitting and wife Claressa and Travis Bitting and wife Tracy all of Bushyhead, Rickey Bitting and wife Candi of Claremore and his daughter Deana Kellison and husband Mike of West Virginia; his grandchildren Amanda Lomer and husband Ray, Tiffany Emery and husband Ronnie, Hayley Bitting, Amaya Bitting, Dakota Bitting, Shawndell, Payton Bitting, Lexi Bitting and Summer Bitting all of Oklahoma, Lindsey, Gabby, Josh and Justin all of West Virginia; 3 great grandchildren of Oklahoma and 4 great grandchildren of West Virginia; his mother Faye Katherine Younger; his brothers Larry Younger and Rusty Younger. Rickey was preceded in death by his father and brother Melvin Leon Younger (Sonny Boy).
