Rickey Allen Howard

Funeral service for Rickey Allen Howard will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1pm--8pm Friday at the funeral home. Rickey passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Hillcrest Hospital. He was 60.

Born October 9, 1955 in Clinton, Iowa to Floyd and Mary Jane (Preston) Howard, Rickey was reared and educated in his birth community. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic. Following his retirement, Rickey continued his education by attending OSU. He earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Environmental Science. With this he began working at the Air National Guard Base in Tulsa.

In 2001 Rickey married Patsy Barker and the couple made their home in Texas until moving to Claremore. His hobby was woodworking and he built a beautiful barn in his back yard to house his shop. He enjoyed time with his family and that great granddaughter Sophia was the light of his eyes. A very intelligent man, Rickey took great care of Patsy and his children.

Those family members that survive include his wife Patsy; his children Kimberly Howard, Vanessa Howard, Elton Moats and wife Amanda and Johnny Brown; his mother Mary Jane Howard; his siblings David Howard and wife Marsha, Cindy Ramig and husband Mike and Christine Stroebele and husband Jay; his grandchildren Robin Walker, Mozelle Walker, Miranda Rodrigues, Melissa Rodrigues and Steven Rodrigues, Jr.; great granddaughter Sophia Walker. Rickey was preceded in death by his father and daughter Patricia Rodrigues.
