Funeral service for Robert Duane Boen will be 10 a.m., Fri., June 29, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Cowan officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Robert passed away Mon., June 25, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS, at the age of 44.
The son of Francis "Lavon" Boen and Shirley (Allen) Riley was born Dec. 16, 1967, in Sallisaw. Robert graduated from Foyil High School in 1987. He married his high school sweetheart, LaDonna Sue Perry on July 2, 1989. Robert worked for Verdigris Valley Sod, Home Depot, Rogers County District 3, and the last 17 years as an over the road trucker for Advance Logistics. He also owned his own dump truck for awhile. Robert enjoyed fishing, OU Sooners, and NASCAR especially Dale Earnhardt. He loved spending time with this grandkids and talking with friends and family.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Francis "Lavon" Boen; and father-in-law, Chuck Perry.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna of the home; children: Jess Boen of Chelsea, and Melony Boen and fiance, Eric Patton of Chelsea; mother, Shirley Riley and husband, Marvin of Nebraska; step-mother, Gussie Watson of Arkansas; brother, Mike Boen and wife, Annette of Foyil; sister, Belinda Baxter and husband, Jim of Broken Arrow; grandchildren: Trinity Hope Wisdom, Luke Tyler Patton, and Kalin Alaxis Patton; and several step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, and nephews.
