Robert George Crow

June 7, 1947 — February 8, 2025

Krum, Texas

Robert George Crow was born on June 7, 1947, to George Eugene “Gene” and Inez (Seigler) Crow in St. George, South Carolina. He passed on February 8, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma where he was a resident at the Claremore Veterans Center. Rob began his military career with the Army from 1966 to 1968, spending most of that time in Vietnam where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. In 1976 he joined the Air Force until his retirement in 1991. During those years he served two duty assignments with ROTC detachments at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and the University of North Texas in Denton. He took great pride in preparing college students to become officers in the Air Force. Living in Denton brought him closer to his childhood home in Sherman, Texas where his extended family lived. During his spare time Rob spent many years coaching baseball and umpiring softball. He loved to fish and hunt. After retirement from the Air Force his civilian years brought new opportunities, and he assumed his responsibilities with the same fervor he did in the military. In 2006 a massive stroke from brain surgery changed his life and a new “normal” had to be faced. He lived his life the best he could under the limiting circumstances. COVID took what was left of his mobility which required more care than could be given at home. The staff at the Claremore Veterans Center took excellent care of him and the family is greatly indebted to the nurses who truly embraced him every day. Our hearts are full that he was loved and respected. His last days brought family together in laughter, memories, and tears. Rob is at peace.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his sister, Ina Miller (Kyle-deceased). He was blessed with five children: Carrie Brenner (Bob), Kelsei Crow, Robert Ransom “Randy” Crow (deceased), Carson Crow (Ashley), and Caitlin Phillips. Seven grandchildren; Amanda, Jami, Eleanor, Laney, Riley, Braden, Steele; and two great grandchildren with another on the way.
