Funeral service for Robert Francis "Candy" McGee will be 11 a.m., Mon., Jan. 10, at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Bob Lawrence officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m.
Candy died Tues., Jan. 4, 2011, at his home at the age of 72.
The son of Joseph Patrick and Mary Ann (Mainart) McGee was born April 23, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, in the family home. He grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from North Catholic High School. Candy served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In 1972, he married Linda Lee Embrey in Oklahoma; and in 1974, they made their home in Tulsa. Candy attended Oklahoma State Tech and received his degree in Auto Body. He liked to travel and when he was able, boating. Candy was the owner of Candy's of Tulsa, where he worked on Auto Body and Paint. Candy was a hard worker and everything revolved around his business. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 1, Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Marie, Joe, Ed, Tom, and Don.
Candy is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; children: Bobby McGee and wife, Samantha of Tulsa, Kellie Anne Johnson and husband, Paul of Phoenix, AZ, Mikki McGee and husband, Romanzo Duncklee of Tucson, AZ, and Michael McGee and wife, Rebecca of Costa Mesa, CA; and grandchildren: Kylie and Kayden McGee, Bryce, Rylie, and Dayne Johnson, Heather, Shaun, Joshua, and Zachary Garcia, and Bridget and Saxon McGee.
