Memorial service for Robert Alan "Bob" Stevens will be 1 p.m., Sat., June
15, at LifeChanger Church, Claremore, OK with Dr. Ted Estes officiating.
Bob passed away Fri., June 7, 2013, at his home at the age of 68.
The son of William and Marguerite Elizabeth (Lumpkin) Stevens was born Feb. 21, 1945, in Oklahoma City. In 1963, Bob graduated from Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City. He enlisted with the U.S. Navy in 1964 and served until his discharge in 1968. While in the Navy he served with the military police at Guatanamo Bay, Cuba. After his discharge he came back to Oklahoma City where he worked at Carson Machine and Supply. In 1969 he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and served until 1975. He was shot in the line of duty in 1970. After leaving the Highway Patrol, Bob went to work in the oil and gas industry. In 1993, he moved to Claremore to work at Baker Hughes in quality control as an analyst. He retired in 2009. Bob met Jean at Cathedral of Praise World Outreach Center in Oklahoma City. They were married on Sept. 2, 1989, at the church where they met. Bob served as a lay minister for small groups, and went on mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala. He enjoyed traveling , camping, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marie Angelo.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; daughters: Sharon Peters and husband, Scott of Midwest City, Michelle Pierce and husband, Michael of Prosper, TX, Stacie Stromberg and husband, Walter of Stillwater, and Angela Abbott of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Jordan Peters, Aidan Pierce, Kylie Stromberg, and Alex, Daen, Chloe, and Azure Abbott; and
nephews: Eric and Nick Angelo.
