Roger Henry Sherman Jr.

Funeral service for Roger Henry Sherman Jr. will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the MMS- Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Richard Billings will officiate. Burial will follow at Winganon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the f uneral home Mon. 1-8 p.m.

Roger passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the age of 19.

The son of Roger and Carolyn "Skeeter" Short Sherman was born November 19, 1994 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a young boy he was raised in the Verdigris area. There he attended Verdigris schools. Roger had lots of hobbies that he enjoyed. There was mudding in his Chevy down by the Verdigris River, Skateboarding at various local skate parks, and scrapping metal wherever he could. Other pastimes included playing video games with his friends, and chasing tornado's with his father and little brother. Fishing and camping with his family were also favorite pastimes. He was a loving son, brother and a friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilmer Short, sister, Chrystal Stinnett, and aunt Linda Cooper.

Survivors include his parents Roger Sr. and Carolyn "Skeeter" Sherman of Verdigris; brother, Coco Sherman; and sister, Shelby Sherman both of Verdigris, grandmother, Betty Short of Chelsea; uncles and aunts, Willie Short and wife Erika of Chelsea, Laura Owens and husband Mike of Catoosa, Timmy Ellis and wife Kelly of Tulsa, Lee Ann Steely of Broken Arrow, Francis Bible of Tulsa, and Eddy Sherman of Washington along with many other cousins and friends.
