A Celebration of Life for Ronnie will be held Friday, at 3:00 pm on June 14, 2024, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Ronnie passed from his earthly body in the early hours of Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of 53.
Ronald “Ronnie” Ellis Miller was born May 14, 1971, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Ron Miller and late Lacita McDonald.
Ronnie started moving full-size houses around the age of 12 with his father and brothers and continued to do so into his late 20’s. His career took him down many paths including truck driving, rigging, heavy equipment operating, owning a hot shot trucking company, owning a retail gun shop (that he bought when Anna was in California!) and owning his own semi-truck, moving mobile homes, but in the end, back to moving mobile homes with his best friend and big brother!
Ronnie met his true love and wife, Anna, in May of 1999 and they married in May of 2002. They celebrated their 22nd anniversary as husband and wife this past May, with Ronnie being his true self and pigging out and eating a 20 oz. steak and being too full to go the movies. But, still ate ¼ of a peanut butter pie when they got home!
A favorite saying of Ronnie’s was “it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission” which got him in trouble…a lot! Anyone that truly knew Ronnie knew he had no fear and would do anything. Anna would laugh and tell anyone that was new to meet him “he’s a dumbass that is missing the fear switch in his brain” and his brothers and true friends laughed and would always agree.
A good definition of Ronnie was an adrenaline junkie. He was happiest in life when he was on the fire department. That was his true calling, if it wasn’t for his back he would have become a full-time fire fighter. He loved going on calls, whether it was a fire, an accident or a medical call, well except if it was a woman in labor, then he never seemed to be able to find his shoes, wallet, truck keys…he did everything he could to miss that truck!
Ronnie loved spending time outdoors, some of his many hobbies included extreme paintball, you know the Army Ranger style, jumping out of trees and off cliffs, he enjoyed fishing and for a short period noodling, he loved going snagging and hunting with Tracy, and he enjoyed riding horses. For the past four years it has been about rock crawling in the rigged up jeeps. Both jeeps he owned weren’t the style to do the trails he did, but that sure didn’t stop Ronnie…he followed big brother anywhere and often lead the pack…thus causing Anna take her Xanax and pray…or just get out and walk! When he first told Anna he wanted to buy a motorcycle she said “no way would she be caught dead on a crotch rocket” and he said “no, I want a Harley” so she said “let’s go get one”. They custom ordered their first Harley in 2009 and have owned three since then. That was a hobby they both truly enjoyed together.
Ronnie lived his life to the fullest without regret or fear and often said “I’ve had a good life and when it’s my time it’s my time, I’m not afraid”. He left this world doing what he loved…riding “Zephyr”.
