Funeral services for Rosemary Lafferty will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00am and Westside Holiness Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Bethel Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home. Rosemary passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 75.
Rosemary Lafferty, born on November 4, 1947, in Galena, MO, to Charlie and Minnie (Thomas) Jones. Rosemary grew up in the Galena area and attended school at Abesville until the 11th grade. At the age of 18, Rosemary would marry and move to Springfield, MO. It was while living in Springfield that she would have Terry. Rosemary moved from Springfield to Chelsea where she would have Danny before moving back to Seymour, MO where they resided for over 30 years. Later, they returned to Chelsea, and Rosemary began working as a school cook. Above all, Rosemary was defined by her deep love for her family. She went above and beyond to ensure they knew how special they were to her, never missing an opportunity to make their birthdays memorable with thoughtful gifts. The name "Granny" was given to her by many over the years, a testament to the love and care she shared with all. Rosemary was known as a great cook and always made sure her family got their favorite meal for their birthday. She was well known for her caramel pecan pie. During the holidays Rosemary would always do the cooking, never asking for help. Above all else, Rosemary loved the Lord and her family and had a strong devotion to both. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Archie Jones, Billy Bob Jones, and Jerry Jones, as well as sisters Avis Henry and Anna Mae Blair.
Rosemary is survived by her sons, Terry Lafferty and wife Gayla and Danny Lafferty and wife Julia, grandsons: Dustin Lafferty and wife Kaylyn, Zach Lafferty and wife Haven, Seth Lafferty and wife Shanae, Jacob Lafferty and wife Chasity, Laban Lafferty and wife Allison, Jared Lafferty and wife Cassidy, and Andrew Lafferty, great-grandchildren; Korvin, Lily, Kayson, Serae, Sherilynn, Hayes, Chase, Julianna, Jameson, and Danielle, brother, Charlie Jones and sister, Phyllis Carver.
