Ruby Mae Baker

Services for Ruby Mae Baker will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 1—8p.m., Wednesday, June 11 at the funeral home. Ruby went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the age of 93.

The daughter of James Howard and Maudie E (Duncan) Logan, Ruby was born July 2, 1920 south of Inola and this area has been home since. In 1934 she and Ray Ollie McDaris were married and this union was blessed with four children. Ray passed away in 1958. In 1962 Ruby married Lorenz Les Baker and they made their home in Inola.

A good wife, mother and grandmother Ruby was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed many hobbies, feeding and watching birds; taking care of her yard along with her roses and loving her little dogs. Ruby worked outside her home as a cook for Inola School and later for American Airlines. She also worked at Hillcrest Hospital as a pharmacy technician, but Ruby most loved taking care of her family.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Shirley Clayrene (McDaris) Reed and husband Hershel of Inola; her grandsons Howard Clay Reed and Eric Shawn Reed and wife Susan; twin great grandsons Landon and Logan Reed. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ray McDaris and Lorenz Baker, two sons and one daughter.
