Ruth Custer

Funeral service for Ruth Custer will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea. Pastor Jim Layton will officiate. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Mrs. Custer passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at the age of 84. The daughter of Archibald and Leeta Lorton Paris was born March 8, 1927 Northeast of Chelsea. She was one of ten children. She attended Chelsea schools graduating with the class of 1945. After a short courtship, Ruth married Wayne "Buck" Custer and they were married March 1946 in Sedan, Kansas. They returned to Oklahoma settling in the Chelsea area. Ruth was a homemaker, and enjoyed taking care of her family. Buck and Ruth shared 64 years of happiness together. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, doing crafts, reading, bird watching, and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family and friends.
