Memorial service for Ryan Roush was 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Inola United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Shepherd officiated.
Ryan passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 26.
The son of Rodney and Robin Swanson Roush was born June 16, 1990, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was raised in the town of Inola, where he was an active part of the community. While attending Inola schools, it was clear that Ryan was a gifted student. He was part of the academic team, and he also held the honor of being the valedictorian of the class of 2008. Wanting to continue his education, he continued attending Rogers State University, where he had been taking concurrent classes while in high school. After a few years of school, Ryan decided to enter the working world. He managed an Abercrombie store in Oklahoma City, and later worked for Regional Medical Lab in Tulsa. Currently, he was working as Business Administrative Assistant for the School of Forensic Science at OSU Tulsa, where he had also returned as a full time student.
In his spare time, Ryan had many hobbies and past times he enjoyed. Flying, however, was his favorite. Over the years he was able to take full advantage of his father's employment at American Airlines. It wasn't uncommon to take a day trip just to go eat lunch somewhere. His love for flying currently has led him to studying aviation himself.
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents Hugh and Pat Swanson, and Rex Roush, as well as his best friend, Brittany Sontag.
Ryan was survived by his parents, Rodney and Cheryl Roush, and Robin and Roger Davis, brother Rusty Roush and wife Brandie, nephew Ryder Roush, Grandmother Carol Roush, aunts and uncles: Larry Swanson and wife Ann, Garry Swanson and wife Bobbi, Phillip Roush and wife Trish; and cousins Charlie Roush, Trent Roush, Shane Swanson, and Toni Roush.
