Sarah Margaret Koons

Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah Margaret (Hoagland) Koons will be 10 a.m., Mon., May 3, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with Father Paul Eichhoff officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m.

Sarah died Tues., April 27, 2010, at her home at the age of 54.

The daughter of Harry James Hoagland, Jr. and Bette Nadine (Arthurs) Hoagland was born June 20, 1955, in Claremore. She graduated from Claremore High School in 1973. Sarah worked for Matco and Bestyet before going to work with Centrilift. She worked there for 21 years. On March 31, 1995, Sarah married Denver E. “Denny” Koons and they made their home in Langley. Sarah enjoyed camping, fishing, baseball, gardening, and spoiling her dogs.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law, Denver Koons.

She is survived by her husband, Denny; sons: Cory Sheats and girlfriend, Christy, and Wes Vrska and wife, Andrea; step-children: Clint Koons and Christy Bennett; grandchildren: Claire Vrska, Molley Bennett, Emily Bennett, Skylar Koons, Braxton Koons, and Brayden Koons; mother-in-law, Jean Koons; brothers: Jim Hoagland and wife, Duffy, and Tom Hoagland; sisters: Kathi Beckett and husband, Lewis, Mary Thomas and husband, Larry, and Phyllis Gallina and her husband, Kevin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenny and Jan Koons; nephews and nieces: Bo Johnson, Nick Hoagland, Winn Hoagland, Stuart Hoagland, Kris and Kyle Payne, Ryan Hoagland, Tyler Gallina, Blair Anderson, Chris Thomas, Sean Thomas, Amber Johnson, and Amanda Hoagland Wiedemann; and lifelong cherished friend, Carol Whitlock.
