Memorial service for Savannah Christine Weilert will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church in Adair.
Savannah passed away on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at the age of 26.
The daughter of David and Melinda Ramsey Weilert was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia on October 14, 1991. After her mother's discharge from the Navy, the family moved home to Oklahoma, eventually settling in the Nowata area. There she would attend Nowata schools until her sophomore year, when she moved to Chelsea. She attended Chelsea High School, graduating with the class of 2010. It was during this time that she met Colton Hess. They would begin dating, and married in August of 2011.
Over the years Savannah worked for a couple of different companies. There was the Cherokee Nation. She also worked with her dad at Viking. However, her favorite job was with the Army National Guard. At the age of 17, while still in high school, Savannah signed up to serve her country. Over the years she has served in many capacities for the guard. Her primary job was as an Automated Logistics Specialist. Currently she worked as a Team Leader for the state of Oklahoma at the Thunderbird Youth Academy.
In her spare time Savannah had many hobbies and pastimes. She loved fishing, hunting, dancing and singing karaoke. She also enjoyed training hunting dogs and reading mystery novels. There was also her drive to know how things worked. Many times she would disassemble an item just to know how it functioned. She would also admit that taking things apart was her specialty, not putting them back together. However, with all of the things that she enjoyed, spending time with her family was her greatest passion.
She is preceded in death by her cousin, Josie Ramsey; grandmothers, Lavonda Ramsey, Vergie Martin, Deborah Austin and Alesa Karnazes; grandfather, John Martin; aunt, Christy Ramsey and dog-son Covey.
Survivors include her son, Ian Blaine Hess, sisters, Hannah and Scarlett Weilert; parents, David and Melinda Weilert; grandparents, Don and Linda Ramsey, and Sharon Smock; aunts and uncles, John and Cherie Ramsey, Joe and Becky Kays, Neil Ramsey, Tim and Kristy Ross, Rob and Trish Weilert, Jason and Rinay Broyles, Jason Weilert, Quannah and Darrell Smith, Don and Jamae Ramsey, Ed and Lisa Weilert and Kerrie Weilert; nieces, Allie Dawn Tatum and Melody Goodman, and numerous other well loved cousins and extended family.
