Funeral service for Sharon Kay Burgett will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 30, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Rick Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Ward’s Grove Cemetery, Foyil. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1- 8 p.m.
Sharon went to be with the Lord Sun., April 25, 2010, in Altamonte Springs, FL, at the age of 51.
The daughter of Carroll J. “C.J.” and Edyth (Johnson) McCormick was born Jan. 7, 1959, in Tulsa. Sharon attended Lowell Elementary school, and graduated from Central High School in 1977. After graduation she worked a few jobs in the Tulsa area. She married Leonard Piguet and had a son, Lenny. They lived in the Tulsa area. In 1988, Sharon met Les Burgett and they were married on Feb. 2, 1990. They had a daughter, Leslie, and moved to Claremore. Sharon learned Masonry and worked alongside her husband, Les, until she could no longer work. She then went to work in her big garden and sold her vegetables at the Claremore Farmers Market. Sharon enjoyed Sequoyah High School football, only missing one game since 1992. She loved NASCAR Racing and her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. She only supported the Chevy drivers. Les died Feb. 26, 2009; and Sharon moved to Florida to be with her sister due to poor health.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Les; and her father.
She is survived by her mother, Edyth McCormick; children: Leonard Ray Piguet, and Leslie Renae Weston; siblings: Carroll Ray McCormick, Linda Halasz, and Barbara McCormick; and grandchildren: Leyah and Dillon Piguet.
Sharon was a great woman of faith and she touched the lives of many, many people. She will be greatly missed by all.
