Sharon Joyce Wilson

Services for Sharon Joyce Wilson were 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens.

Sharon passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 73.

The daughter of Loy and Beulah Bridges was born on October 23, 1943, in Claremore. She was raised in Catoosa, and attended Catoosa Schools. She was a member of the graduating class of 1961. After graduation, Sharon continued to live in Catoosa, and began working in Tulsa. One weekend she decided to visit some friends in Claremore. It was then that she met Ronnie Wilson. They married on March 30, 1969, in Nowata, Oklahoma.

Over the next few years, the newlywed couple made their home in Catoosa and Arkansas, before moving to Claremore in 1976. It was then that she began her 32-year working career for Claremore Public Schools She retired in 2011.

In her spare time Sharon had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She loved working on her family's genealogy. This led to many excursions throughout the country, looking for long lost relatives. When her children were young, she even enjoyed coaching softball. Most recently, lots of her time was spent keeping up with her Catoosa High School classmates, and watching the NBA. She did admit it's not the same without her favorite player, Shaq, playing. However, her true love was her family, especially her granddaughter Ciarra, who she loved watching play soccer.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Beulah Bridges, and husband Ronnie W. Wilson.

Those family members that survived include her son; Loy W. Wilson of Springfield, MO; daughter, Shelley Wilson of Claremore, OK: daughter, Stephanie Deering and husband Gary of Tulsa, OK; brother; Michael Bridges and wife Glenda of Austin, TX; and granddaughter Ciarra Boyles of Claremore, OK.
