Services for Sheldon Lee Purl will be 11:00a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church Inola. Friends may visit at the Inola Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16 from 1—8.
Sheldon passed away on April 12, 2014 at the age of 52.
Sheldon was born December 12, 1961 in Kabul, Missouri to Lloyd and Ruby May (Hayworth) Purl. Following his schooling he made his home in Missouri and California. Sheldon moved back to Oklahoma and began working for Kaiser Steel. In 1982 he took a position with Port 33. In 1990 Sheldon met Michelle and in 1996 they were married. About a year ago the couple moved to Pryor.
In his spare time, Sheldon enjoyed hunting, fishing and motor cycle riding. He loved his family especially loved playing baseball with his son. Sheldon also coached little league football and baseball.
A devoted husband, father, brother and friend, Sheldon will be missed by all who knew him. Those family members that survive include his wife Michelle of their home; his son Tyler Weeks; his grandchildren Tristan and Ella Weeks; his parents Lloyd and Ruby May Purl; his sisters Vickie Hayes, Alicia Henderson and Brenda Griffin; his brothers Ken, Greg, Andy, Buck and Dennis Purl and numerous friends.
