Sherri passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 56.
Sherri Ann Ladd was born February 25, 1961 in Hobbs New Mexico, to Ela Clay and Nina Ruth Howerton. As a young girl, she and and her family moved to the Sequoyah area. There she attended Sequoyah schools, graduating with the class of 1979. It was also while in school that she met Donnie Ladd. They would marry on July 19, 1979. Over the next few years she worked for a couple of local companies. She then decided to return to college. She began attending Northeastern State University, and graduated in 1994 with a teaching degree. Her first job was substitute teaching at Foyil, before being hired by Justice/Tiawah. Teaching was a great fit for Sherri, and in 1997 she was named Teacher of the Year for the first time.
Sherri had many things in life that made her happy, including photography, antiquing, cooking, and attending First Baptist Church of Claremore. However none were more precious to her than her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Nina.
Sherri is survived by her children Sacha Ladd, and Jeremy Ladd and wife Tiffany; grandchildren: Maddison Hassell, Tyler Hassell, Ayden Hassell, Kalyn Ladd, Karlee Ladd, and Kensey Ladd; father, E.C. Howerton; sisters: Terri Burrell and husband Rick, Sheila Atchley and husband Sean, and Crystal Joseph and husband David, and her dog, Rufus.
