Sherry Yvonne Rickard

Funeral service for Sherry Yvonne Rickard will be 1 p.m., Fri., Oct. 14, at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tom Launius officiating. Burial will follow at Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Sherry died Tues., Oct. 11, 2011, at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 72.

The daughter of E.W. "Red" and Mary Lou (Thompson) Henson was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Pryor. She graduated in 1955 at the age of 16 from Strang High School as a valedictorian. On Sept. 10, 1955, Sherry married Donald Ray Rickard in Strang. Sherry was the co-owner of J&S Industries, Inc. which provided medical services. She retired in 1990. Sherry was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Claremore, Claremore Twirlers Square Dance Club, Pilot Club of Claremore, and Pilot International. She was inducted into Pilot International in February of 1990 and remained an active member. Sherry served as the 2000/2001 District Governor of the Arkansas/Oklahoma District of Pilot International. She was always a generous giver to the Pilot International Foundation and remained a 250 Member. Sherry also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and also served on the Will Rogers Library Board. She enjoyed playing Bingo up to a couple of weeks ago, helping with Pauly's Pantry, and participant in the Ladies Lunch Bunch.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bob Henson.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Don of the home; children: Suzie Sneed and husband, Buddy of San Antonio, TX, and Jim Rickard and wife, Cindy of Claremore; grandchildren: Tricia Richards and husband, Duane, Shane Sneed, and Merissa Middour and husband, Michael all of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren: Sean Brian Sneed, Dylan Michael Sneed, Calli Ann Richards, and Kaitlyn Yvonne Sneed; and sister-in-law, Earline Henson of Pryor.
