Graveside service for Shirley Sue Froman will be 11 a.m., Thurs., Aug. 6, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Shirley passed away Sat., Aug. 1, 2015, at her home in Athens, GA, at the age of 79.
The daughter of JoDan Mouton and Francis May (Ray) Mouton was born Aug. 9, 1935, in Claremore. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Shirley was a Sunday school teacher for several years and loved children. She made crafts for family and friends; including many Easter chickens and rabbits for church children. She was married to her husband, John, for 58 years. They enjoyed working on their farm on Froman Road together for 56 years.
Those family members who survive are daughter, Sheryl Kesler and husband, Stanley of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Shane Kesler and wife, Jeannie of Danielsville, GA, Kimberly Tyson and husband, Clint of Winder, GA; great-grandchildren: Chandler and Tiffany Tyson, Colton Kesler, and Ronnie and Aron Williams; sister, Dorothy Dewey and husband, Joe of Chelsea; sisters-in-law, Donna Froman of Claremore, Linda Froman of Claremore, Phyllis Froman of Oologah, and Joyce Josey of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Mary Pat Melton , and Joan Froman; and brother, Billy Joe Mouton.
