Claremore

Funeral services for Stephen (Steve) Braziel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Harvest Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Stephen was born on October 21, 1955, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Roger and Janice (Sorensen) Braziel. His family later moved to St. Francis, Kansas, where he attended St. Francis High School. There he enjoyed wrestling and graduated in 1974. He went on to attend Fort Hays University before moving to Denver to begin his career, eventually owning his own delivery company.

In the mid-1980s, Stephen relocated to Claremore to be near his sister. It was there that he met Darlene, and the two married on January 22, 1988, building a life and raising their family in Claremore. He worked for Allegheny Ludlam until its closure, then spent over 15 years with the Tulsa Sheriff's Department. He retired from there in September of 2019.

Stephen's greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending their events and cherishing every moment with them. When not in the company of his grandchildren he loved finding new books and was an avid reader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Janice Braziel, and his brother-in-law, Sam Landwehr.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; son, Jeremy Braziel and wife Diana of Fayetteville, AR; daughter, Ashleigh Webb and husband Jason of Verdigris; grandchildren, Chase, Kinley, Sicilei, and Brielle; brother, Rob Braziel; and sister, Rojean Landwehr.
