Memorial service for Steven Dewayne Hammonds, Sr. will be 2 p.m., Fri., April 10, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.
Steven passed away Sat., April 4, 2015, at Eastar Health System, Muskogee, at the age of 45.
The son of Delton Eugene Hammonds and Norma Jean (Hathcoat) Hammonds was born Nov. 10, 1969, in Tulsa. Around the age of 9, Steven and his family moved to Claremore where he attended Sequoyah schools. Steven worked on Melvin and Rodney Payne's ranch and helped his dad build fence. In 1987, Steven married Tammy Louise Dilldine in Claremore. Steven enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working with wood and building furniture, taking care of and riding horses, helping with Habitat for Humanity, and writing poems.
He is preceded in death by his son, Steven; father, Delton; brother, Mitchell Hammonds; and sister, Deborah Hammonds.
Steven is survived by his wife, Tammy of the home; daughters: Ashley Parmley and husband, Devin of Claremore, and Kimberly Phillips and husband, Tommy of Wagoner; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Hammonds of Claremore; mother, Norma Hammonds of Muskogee; sister, Carol Main of Muskogee; and grandchildren: Kaylor Parmley, Ethan Hammonds, Alisa Hammonds, Hailey Hammonds, Harlie Jo Parmley, Cooper Parmley, and Eli Phillips.
