Terry Ann Dishman

Service for Terry Dishman will be 10:00a.m., Monday, August 1, 2016 at Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, July 31 from 1pm--6pm. Terry passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center. She was 60.

Born in Palmyra, WI, on September 19, 1955 to Raymond and Marcella (Romens) Nielsen, Terry attended school at Ceaderburg, graduating with the class of 1973. In 1974 she enlisted in the US Air Force and served her country until her retirement in 1994. She was assigned to the AWACS Fleet and was a radar technician for several operations during Desert Storm. Terry was awarded the Air Medal, Joint SVC Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the National Defense Service Medal to name a few. Following her retirement, she moved to Oklahoma. Terry married Neil Dishman on December 19, 1986 and they made their home in Colorado and Oklahoma.

Over the years she and Neil owned and operated the Allen's Point RV Park while also raising several head of cattle. In her spare time Terry enjoyed the sport of barrel racing. She chose a close friend, Kindell, as a rider for her horse "Sadie" and together they competed often.

A wonderful wife, mother and friend, Terry is survived by her husband Neil, her children George Herbert Porter and wife Veronica, Amanda Lee Dishman and Jolene Marie Dishman; her grandchildren Megynn, Jacob and Lyric ; her mother Marcella Nielsen; her sister Mary Golab and husband David; her brothers Dennis Neilson and wife Debbie and Donny Neilson and wife Kris. Terry was preceded in death by her father Raymond Nielsen and her brother Daniel "Red" Nielsen.
