Funeral service for Tex L. Dean will be 10 a.m., Mon., Nov. 1, at Church of the Nazarene with Rev. J.J. James and John Martin officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps will follow at Washington Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.
Tex died Wed., Oct. 27, 2010, at his home at the age of 61.
The son of Russell McKinley and Ola Mae (Harper) Dean was born Sept. 26, 1949, in Claremore. Tex attended Justus Elementary, Claremore High School, and Will Rogers Junior College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 6 years, and then went to work with Rockwell. In 2005, retired as an inspector with Boeing North American. On April 18, 1970, he married Joyce Ann Baisden in Pryor. Tex was a member of the Kaiser-Frasier Club. He started buying and selling Henry J. cars in 1992. He loved working on his old cars; and fishing with his daughter and grandkids. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play soccer; but his biggest joy was riding his Harley.
Tex is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Melvin Dean; grandparents: Myrtle Harper, and Mac and Olive Dean; and aunt, Mary Lee Harper.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Dean of the home; children: Cristal Buchfink and husband, Bryan of Claremore, Jeff Dean and wife, Dina of Verdigris, and Jeremy Dean and wife, Charity of Claremore; grandchildren: Levi Dean, Gage Dean, Dylan Dean, Owen Dean, Lane Buchfink, Kolton Dean, Bryar Dean, Nash Dean, Marshall Dilbeck-Dean, Joey Dilbeck, Skylier Dean, Madison Dean, and Danika Dilbeck-Dean; brothers: Rex Dean and wife, Cindy of Claremore, and Gary Dean and wife, Ladonna of Catoosa; mother-in-law, Bernice Baisden of Claremore; best friends: Fred Martin and David Nickerson both of Claremore; nieces: Amber Black, Ashley Lujan, and Emmalee Shriver and husband, Tanner; and many friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
