Funeral service for Thelma Lucille Dear will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021 at Claremore Church Of The Nazarene, burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, October 14 from 3pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Thelma passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2021. She was 76.
Born February 5, 1945 in White Oak, Oklahoma to Harry and Elsie (Harvey) Heard, Thelma went to school in White Oak. On September 16, 1961 she married James Dear in a ceremony at Vinita Trinity Baptist Church. Pryor was home for the couple before moving to Claremore in 1966. The couple was blessed with 3 children.
Thelma worked at the Will Rogers Hotel as a waitress and Dots then later started working as a CNA at Claremore Nursing Home, she later continued her education, finishing as an LPN. Claremore Health Center became her new employment and she faithfully worked there until her retirement in 2005. Thelma enjoyed crocheting, needle point, and crossword puzzles and she loved doing crafts with the church ladies. GG was her favorite word and loved spending time with her beloved grands and great grands. Church was very important and she went as often as she could when her health would allow her.
Those family members that survive include her children Jimmy E. Dear and Cherilyn (Sheri) Bickell and husband Kevin; her grandchildren Michael Dear, Seth Dear and wife Jessica, Kyle Dear, Jamie Simons and husband Zachary Palmer, Catie Dear and husband Yagal Eisenstadty, Melody Wilson, Amanda Simons; great grandchildren Patrick Jaye, Austin Dear, Jacoby Dear, Rylie Dear, Braelynn Palmer, Lillian Palmer, Kysen Palmer, Emberlyn Simons, Moana, Simons, Landon Dear, Emory Dear, and Amichai Eisenstadt; 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters husband Jim Dear and her son Charles Dear.
