Ted was reared and educated in his birth community and graduated from St. Casimir Catholic School in 1939. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army. He was deployed overseas during WWII and received numerous medals including the Prisoner of War and the Bronze Star. Once Ted was discharged he married the love of his life, Virginia May Kirkley on September 19, 1945 in Yonkers, New York. Three years later they moved to Virginia’s hometown of Claremore, where they had two sons, Michael and Mark. Ted became employed with the City of Claremore, retiring after 40 years of service.

Ted was a true lover of the game of golf—he began that passion as a caddy at St. Andrews Golf Course in New York and eventually became the ‘King of the Course’ at Heritage Hills. He enjoyed teaching his tricks of the trade on the course, especially his short game. He was an avid artist. Ted was very proud to be a charter member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church. He devoted his life and love to the Lord and his faith was solid and strong. In his later years he enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center and visiting friends with his wife. They were happily married for 66 years. His son Mark took special care of him the last years of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Veronica “Smolik” Janos; his wife Virginia Kirkley Janos; son Michael Joseph Janos; his siblings Stanley Janos, Eddie Janos, Matthew Janos and Frankie Janos, his twin brother.
