Thomas "Tom" Wayne Anderson passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 79.
Tom was born to Loy and Katherine Anderson on November 27, 1945, in Stroud, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Wellston High Schools.
In his younger years, Tom developed a strong work ethic by working on a dairy farm and hauling hay during the summer. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed coon hunting, often riding the trails on his trusty mule, Dino. Some of his favorite pastimes included trading horses, mule-skinning, fishing, hunting, camping, and working on tractors and pickups. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
On September 11, 1963, Tom married his high school sweetheart, Carol, and the couple shared nearly 60 wonderful years together. During the last seven years of their marriage, Tom lovingly served as Carol’s caregiver until her passing in 2023.
Tom was a man of many talents and occupations. He worked at McDonnell Douglas for many years until his retirement. In addition to his full-time career, Tom was a semi-truck driver, welder, concrete factory worker, real estate agent flipping houses, mechanic, and skilled auto body technician.
Of all his endeavors, Tom’s greatest passion was spreading God’s word. As a minister and evangelist, he dedicated his life to serving church communities in need. Whether stepping in as a preacher for congregations without one or supporting neighboring communities through his ministry, Tom lived his faith through service.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Anderson; his parents, Loy and Katherine Anderson; and his son, Tracy Wayne Anderson.
He is survived by his daughters, LaDonna Moore and husband Cliff, Tresa Snyder and husband Tommy, and Rita Shaw and husband Clay; his siblings, Jerry Dean Anderson, Edward Anderson, and Luella Sims; his grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Jessica Moore, Heather Trujillo, Tiffany Snyder, Tosha Parrish, Brittany Hoffman, and Amber Remington; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Tommy will be remembered as a hardworking, kind-hearted man who loved his family deeply and found purpose in his faith and service to others. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
