Memorial services celebrating the life of Thomas “Tom” W. Decker, Sr., will be 6 p.m., Fri., Oct. 3, at the family home, 19406 E. 440 Rd., Claremore, OK 74017. Tom passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the age of 79.
Thomas William “Tom” Decker, Sr. was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1935 to Robert Joseph and Frieda Louise (Pude) Decker. He was reared and educated in his birth community. Tom worked most of his life as a rubber and plastics chemist, retiring from Interstate Rubber & Plastics Company in the early 1970’s.
In his spare time, Tom loved go fishing. He was a lifetime member with the VFW and also a member of the American Legion. He loved cheering his beloved St. Louis Rams team to victory.
Those family members that survive include his children Theresa Myers, Tom Decker, Jr., Tim Decker, Laura Armstrong, Sharon Wyatt and Linda Myers; his sisters Delores Sudol and Anita Pidgeon; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Odessa, his brother Robert J. Decker, Jr. and son Tony Bevilacqua.
