Funeral Service for Tim Floyd Carter will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. There will be a Visitation on Friday, Novermber 3, 2017 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Tim went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Claremore at the age of 83.
The son of Russell Garvin and Myrtle Valentine (Russell) Carter was born on June 19, 1934, in Hanson, Oklahoma. Tim married Freda L. Carter on August 4, 1953. Tim joined the US Army on August 9, 1956 and Tim and Freda made their home in Rogers County in 1969. Freda passed away on September 16, 2012. Tim was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting and of course, his Dachshunds. Tim is survived by his sons Darell Carter of Chelsea, Oklahoma and Tim Floyd Carter,II., of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter Sheila Carter of Oologah, Oklahoma; brother, "Uncle Tom" Twombly of Mineral Wells, Texas; Sister Shirley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Freda and 1 great-grandchild.
