Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Trudy passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 73.
Trudy Thompson was born on October 23, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Everett and Ada (Taylor) Space. She moved around with her family during her early years before settling in the Claremore area.
While attending Sequoyah Schools, Trudy met Luther (Luke) Thompson through a mutual friend, and their love story began. They got married on September 2, 1966, at their family home, where they lived together for 57 wonderful years until Trudy's passing.
Trudy dedicated nearly 18 years of her life as a custodian at Sequoyah Schools. The children affectionately called her "Ms. Trudy" because of the love and care she showed them. Trudy had a heart of gold and welcomed everyone into her life with open arms. She found joy in reading and fishing but found the most happiness in taking care of her family.
Trudy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Loyd Space, Leonard Space, and Terry Space, sister Bonnie Space, and grandson Dwayne Presley. Trudy is survived by her loving husband Luke, daughters Lisa Presley and husband Doug, and Anita Thompson; grandchildren Chadlee Ketchum, Sarah and Roger Russ, Zachary Baer, Larah and Joseph Choate, Desiree Arnecher, and Cheree Thompson; great-grandchildren Abagael Russ, Shaylee Ketchum, Zaylynn Baer, Loki Arcecher, Ronan Russ, Luka Baer, and Avacyn Thompson; sisters Loretta Gerber, Connie Pennington and husband Dennis, and Janie Space; and brothers Larry Space and Perry Space. Trudy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved and cared for.
