Velma Lorene Hutson

Funeral service for Velma Lorene Hutson will be 11 a.m., Mon., July 20, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.

Lorene passed away Wed., July 15, 2015, at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 80.

The daughter of Arthur Andrew Jackson and Nora Mattie (Scott) Jackson was born June 2, 1935, in Paw Paw Bottom, OK. Lorene was reared and educated in Brent, OK, and finished school in Arvin, CA, where she met Hulen Ray Hutson. They were married on August 25, 1951, and six children blessed their union. Lorene was employed by Sears, Western Auto, and Ace Hardware where she was in retail sales. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, sewing, and singing on the radio in the 60's in Lancaster, CA. She also loved sitting on her front porch, and gardening her flowers and vegetables. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Lorene will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her her husband, Hulen; son, Terry Andrew Hutson; daughter, Cynthia Arlene Hutson; her parents; and siblings: Hubert Jackson, James Jackson, Kenneth Jackson, Don Jackson, Thelma Wallace, and Mary Alice Raynor.

Lorene is survived by her children: Diana Gail Martin of Claremore, Kathryn Rae Cunningham of Red Oak,TX, Betty Ann Hutson of Owasso, and Glenn Allen Hutson of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
