Vera Pauline Smith

Funeral service for Vera Pauline Smith will be 11 a.m., Mon., Aug. 23, at First Baptist Church of Inola with Rev. Blake Gideon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m.

Pauline died Wed., Aug. 18, 2010, at Inola Health Care Center at the age of 89.

The daughter of James Frederick and Maggie Theodore (Reed) Conder was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Lamar County, TX. On May 21, 1941, Pauline married Vernon Scott Smith in Claremore. They made their home in Inola. Pauline was a member of First Baptist Church for 56 years. She enjoyed reading and eating out.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Scott; her parents, Fred and Maggie Conder; brother, James L.; and sisters: Carrie White and Irene Belden.

She is survived by her son, Vernon Scott Smith, Jr. and wife, Geneva of Locust Grove; sister, Becky Hardison of Inola; granddaughter, Lisa Smith; step-grandsons, Jim and Bruce; brother, Don Conder of Alma, AR; and sisters-in-law, Carol Conder of Moore, and Bea Smith of Inola.
