Memorial service for Verna Ruth Jolley will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Inola Funeral Home Chapel. Verna passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was 81.
Born October 16, 1937 in Mangum, Oklahoma, to Otho Lee and Wilma E. (Tarleton) Ware, Verna attended schools in Mangum and graduated High School there. She lived in Inola for a time before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, with her husband Ted Jolley and that was home for many years, moving to Inola a few years back to be near family.
Verna worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years. She began as an operator and worked her way to a lineman. Her hobbies included quilting and volunteering at the Driscoll Childrens Hospital where she made quilts for the babies. Verna also enjoyed dancing to country music with Ted. She also owned several rent houses, not only did she manage them, she also kept up with all the maintenance herself.
Those family members that survive include her son Greg Moss and wife Thea; her grandchildren Mathew Moss, Amber Wilson and husband Chris, Ryan Moss and wife Chelsi and Taylor Moss; her great grandchildren Pendleton Moss, Tidus Wilson and Anniston Moss. Verna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted Jolley; son Donald Dale Moss; daughter Joanna Mariah Archer; grandson Donald Dale Moss, II; sisters Tommie Jean Ware Baker and Frankie Lea Ware Wooster and brother Otho Darell Ware.
