A mass of Christian Burial for Vicente Aguirre will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, August 20 from 1pm-7pm, a prayer service will began at 7:00 p.m. Vicente passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. He was 85.
Born July 19, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Rosendo Aguirre, Sr. and Gravilla (Marino) Aguirre, Vicente attended school first at St. Francis Xavier School and later finished at Holy Family Catholic School. Following his schooling, Vicente enlisted with the Navy and proudly serviced his country during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Vicente began working for a department store at 21 and Sheridan in Tulsa. On July 19, 1964, Vicente married Florence Marie Massey. The couple moved to New Orleans where he worked for K-Mart. Starting at the bottom, Vicente made his way to the top, managing several locations until his retirement after 35 years. They moved back to Oklahoma and made Claremore their home.
Vicente enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved his church family and attended every chance he could. He was a people person and loved talking to his friends. Vicente made his own wine and was a Mason.
Those family members that survive include his brother Joe Aguirre and wife Connie of Claremore and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Amelia Leboul and brother Rosenda Aguirre, Jr.
