Vicki Lynn Hanson

Service for Vicki Lynn Hanson will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at First Methodist Church.  Friends my visit at the funeral home on Thursday, October 12, from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm.  Vicki passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023.  She was 52.

Vicki was born on January 10, 1971, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, to Jim and Sandy Agema, she began her education at Aurora Christian Church School, graduating with the class of1989.  She furthered her education at Trinity Christian College allowing Vicki to cultivate her knowledge and earn a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Vicki began her journey in education after completing college. She dedicated herself to shaping young minds and started her teaching career in Illinois. In 1996, she embarked on a new chapter of her life as she married Scott Hanson. The couple then settled in Oklahoma due to Scott's work commitments. Vicki was employed at Disney Elementary School before finding a fulfilling position at Westside Elementary.

Vicki's vibrant personality and unwavering optimism influenced all those fortunate enough to know her. She always sought the silver linings in any adversity, demonstrating resilience and poise even in times of declining health.

Beyond her commitments as an educator and devoted wife and mother, Vicki found solace in various pastimes that brought her immense joy. She had a green thumb like no other and took great pleasure in nurturing plants of all kinds; Vicki thrived amidst nature's splendor.  Additionally, she cherished family vacations spent at Myrtle Beach—a time filled with laughter and unforgettable moments.  

Those family members that survive include her husband Scott Hanson; her children Nick Hanson and Kati Hanson; her parents Jim and Sandy Agema; her brothers Troy Agema and Brett Agema. Vicki was preceded in death by her brother Brian Agema.
