Funeral service for Virginia Maxine (Love) Robbins Holman will be 2 p.m., Tues., April 20, at the House of Prayer with Revs. Richard Hubbard, Ruben Griffin, and Cindy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-8 p.m.
Virginia died Fri., April 16, 2010, at her daughter's home at the age of 88.
The daughter of Henry Washington and Birdie Belinda (Lucas) Love was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Claremore. Virginia attended Chelsea and Foyil schools. On Dec. 22, 1937, she married Orvel James "Whitey" Robbins and they made their home in Foyil. Whitey died in 1968. On Jan. 13, 1979, Virginia married Alan Holman. He died in 1991. Virginia was a homemaker, and raised hogs and cattle on the family farm. Virginia served as an ordained minister and teacher at the church her family started in Foyil, Bethel Chapel. Her greatest ministry was praying for other people. Virginia loved her family and friends and enjoyed fishing. She loved being outdoors with nature and working in her garden.
Virginia is preceded in death by her first husband, Whitey; second husband, Alan; son, Orvel Robbins; parents; sister, Mary Casey; and brothers: Clyde, Roy, and Jewell Love.
She is survived by her children: Esther Nickles and husband, Thomas of Claremore, James Robbins and wife, Barbara of Foyil, and Rosetta Sperry and husband, Robert of Foyil; grandchildren: LaFonda Nickles Bly and husband, Rick of Broken Arrow, Thomas Dwight Nickles and wife, Lori of Claremore, J.R. Robbins and wife, Jodi of West Columbia, TX, Michael Robbins and wife, Cinda of Terrell, TX, Terry Robbins and wife, Kristin of Ft. Worth, TX, Larry Robbins of Claremore, Kimberly Abaee Brown and husband, Dale of Claremore, Pamela Morgan and husband, Tom of Willis, TX, and Shannon Deaver of Chelsea; great-grandchildren: Ashley Smoots, Zachary Smoots, Thomas Donnavan Nickles, Ethan Nickles, Ashley Dawn Budgick, Sydney Robbins, Darby Robbins, Birdie Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Jake Robbins, Emma Robbins, Jonathan Abaee, Joshua Abaee, Robin Tadych, Kelsey Simms, Derrick Maner, Dustin Deaver, Nathan Deaver, and Nicholas Deaver; and great-great-grandchildren: Hunter Tadych, Haley Tadych, Gunner Murray, Kayla Budgick, and Hayley Budgick.
