Funeral service for Virginia Naomi Lasater will be 2:00p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Chelsea Assembly of God Church, burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10, from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 4pm-8pm. Virginia passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was 88.
Born November 12, 1934, in Kenwood, Oklahoma to James Harrison and Ada Gay (Pilant) Brown, Virginia attended schools first at Green Brier and then later at South Branch. On September 18, 1953 she married Daniel Joseph Lasater. With his career in the Air Force, they made many places home through the years, Arkansas, California, Japan, and Alaska to name several. Chelsea became home in the later years.
Virginia loved her family and enjoyed playing games with them. She also liked to fish and spend time in her garden and loved her animals.
Those family members that survive include her children Linda Diane Lasater, Cheryl Devore, Debora Reed, and Daniel Lasater; her grandchildren Danielle Barnes, Timothy Davenport, Amanda Devore, Darrel Stokely, Jr., Lisa Stokely, Joseph Reed, Edith Shannon, Virginia Welch, and Donna Reed; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one on the way; her sister Viola Maupin; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Kay Alverson. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel Lasater, daughter Donna Lasater, grandchildren Bryan Devore, Tammy Klein, Patricia Stokely and her siblings Juanita Chandler, Ruby Combs, Lonnie Brown, and James Brown.
