Longtime Claremore area resident, Virginia "Jenny" Meeks, better known as "The Hallmark Lady", passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021. She was 78.
Jenny was born February 10, 1942 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Dale and Virginia (Cottrell) Wilson. Family was her first priority and she took great care of them. In 1983 Jenny began working for the Hallmark store where she gained many friends through the years. When she left in 2005, Jenny achieved her goal of opening her own business, Outwest Home Decor. She enjoyed this time of her life taking care of her store and her customers.
Church was very important to Jenny and she went to church every Sunday, rain or shine. She was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and loved her church family. Jenny also loved to work in her garden and spending time with her family and friends.
Her unconditional love, kindness, and selflessness will never be forgotten and will continue to shine through everyone who loved her. Those family members that preceded her in death include her mother Virginia Wilson-Loyd, father Dale Wilson, step father John Loyd, brother Wes Ramsey and wife Willie, and brother-in-law Wayne Campbell. Jenny is survived by her daughter Shannon Smart and husband Mark; granddaughter Sydney Bump and husband Garrett; sisters Etta Campbell, and Judy Chronister and husband Ben and several well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
