Funeral service for Vivian Faye (McClurg) Lasater will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013, 1-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Vivian passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at the age of 90.
The daughter of Jody and Effie Williams McClurg was born July 8, 1923 in Claremore. She was raised in the Claremore area, and attended Claremore schools. One day while at the local ice cream parlor she met Freeborn Troy Lasatar. They were married June 18, 1942 in Pryor. For a short time they made their home in Claremore, before moving to California. In California she began working as a cook. She worked for places such as K-Mart, and the Jolly Kone Drive-in. After the passing of her husband in 2003, Vivian remained in Bakersfield for a few more years before moving to Claremore. Once in Claremore she concentrated on spending more time with her friends and family. Her favorite pastimes were flower gardening, and going to garage sales.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Survivors include her children, Bruce Lasater of Mountain View, AR, Gary Lasater and wife Sheri of Bakersfield, CA, Hugh Lasater and wife Bev of Bakersfield, CA, Ramona Bush of Bakersfield, CA, Charlotte Poteet of Bakersfield, CA, and Linda Letourneau and husband Tom of Claremore, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Claremore area.
